I am offering guitar private lessons that will be oriented to the genre you prefer. At first you will learn how to play from music scores and chord symbols. Later we will try to gain the most from your musical ear and figure out chords without any notation. Then you can also easily start to improvise.

What should you bring?

You need a guitar. If you don’t own any, I can help you with choosing the right one. If you have some music you played in the past, bring it to the lesson.

Usually, to get basic overview of music theory, students should go through all major and minor scales, to understand the system behind, to be able to write them down and to sing or play them on their instrument. Then, we can easily learn intervals, build chords and later explore other modes and methods of music analysis. Eventually, for the most devoted students, four-voice harmony arranging and counterpoint writing opens up.

Our study time should be dedicated to music history as well. Theory of harmony was developing together as composition styles were changing over our history. That’s why it’s useful to be able to distinguish between major music styles, to hear the differences and to categorise world-wide known composers.

Finally, we will also find time for solfeggio and ear training. Musicians use their hearing as an important tool for their musical activities. After scales, intervals and chords are saved in one’s memory, ears become a good helper they can always rely on. While practicing a music instrument or singing, musicality is naturally developing. Then, the basic cadence sounds familiar, something many times heard. However, without theoretical knowledge, we cannot give it a name. We know it, but we don’t know what it is and what other variants it has. After thorough study and practice of sounds and frequencies recognition, student can recognise any given resonance. Solfeggio training helps to develop rhythmicality, intonation, overall musicality and it’s fun.

Do you need your scores to be transcribed with music notation software? Is it a handwritten manuscript that doesn’t look nice? I can rewrite it on computer and send you PDF file.

Do you need to change the key or cleff of your piece? Do you have a full score and want to extract just particular instruments staffs? I can do that for you easily.

Same applies for arrangements. If you have for example an orchestral scores and want to play it on piano, I can transcribe it for two hands without any problem.

Or maybe you need precisely identified chords of a song and match them with the lyrics on a sheet. That’s my favourite work and I’m very punctual!

Prices for transcriptions:

1 page of solo instrument scores: 20 €
1 page of two or more instruments scores: 30 €

Prices for arrangements:

1 page for solo instrument: 30 €
1 page for two or more instruments: 40 €

Prices for ear identification:

1 simple song/piece – simple chord progressions (I, IV, V and substitutions), occasional modulations (pop, rock, blues…): 12 €

1 complex song/piece – Secondary dominants, chords borrowed from other keys, modal changes (prog-rock, jazz, funk…): 20 €

▪ Note that one page of transcription or arrangement usually takes 2-3 hours to complete, depending on the complexity of the piece, setting and how many instruments are involved.
▪ I am obliged to finish the transcriptions in the agreed time frame.
▪ The payment will be sent upon the order, before I start working.
▪ After the order is paid, it’s not possible to cancel it with the right for full refund. However, it is possible to agree on partial refund if I haven’t completed full transcription yet.
